Hey there fellow parents! I think it's safe to say that we agree on the fact that modern parenting is kinda tough, especially when you throw in things like smartphones, video games, and TV where you kid get hooked and addicted to them.

As a parent, I also know the struggle of trying to get my kids to do chores without having them complain and argue. It’s a constant battle to get them off their phones or gaming apps and away from those late-night screen sessions.

And sometimes, it feels like the more I push, the harder they push back and be stubborn.

And that is why I was always on the lookout to find some kind of help to fix this issue.

But what if there was a way to make all the household chores more fun for the whole family, a way to get everyone involved without the usual drama and stubbornness? That's where the Levelty App comes in.

All the features of this app just clicked with me and made sense, curious why? Stick around as I review one of the best family chore apps on the Apple store!

What Is Levelty App?

Levelty is a top-rated family chore app that turns our daily family routines into a game. It helps parents and their kids organize tasks in a fun, entertaining way that makes chores feel less boring and adds the element of competition, exactly like a game.

Super cute interface

It was developed by therapists and trusted by parents, and it was designed to bring families closer while teaching kids responsibility.

What I loved most about it is that it doesn’t just make chores easier, it makes the parenting experience more fun. Instead of nagging my kid to clean their rooms or set the table, thanks to Levelty we now have a system that rewards teamwork and effort, which is exactly what I needed! It just makes the experience all about growing together, playing together, and creating a home filled with love and laughter.

Levelty App Features

I’ve been using the app a lot lately, and I noticed that it has features for both parents and kids. Here's how it makes family life easier and super fun.

For Parents

One of the hardest parts of parenting is getting kids to do what they’re supposed to without repeating yourself a thousand times.

Levelty helps with that by creating a clear, structured system where everyone knows what’s expected and it kind of makes you feel excited and wanting more, exactly like a game.

The app’s convenient calendar and goal-tracking features keep everything organized so we can spend less time micromanaging.

For Kids

I don't know about you, but I've never heard about a kid who jumps out of joy when it’s time to do their chores. Levelty changes that by turning the boring tasks they have to do into something they're excited to do.

Using that gamified design, rewards, and achievement system, kids get to see their progress, earn recognition, and feel a real sense of accomplishment.

It helps build their confidence and teaches them responsibility in a way that will surprise you, especially for toddlers, I honestly wish I had come across this app sooner!

What Makes Levelty App Better?

Easy to use

I’ve used some other family chore apps before, but they all felt kind of... basic. Their only purpose was to organize tasks, and that was it. Nothing exciting, nothing that made my kids actually want to do their chores.

But with Levelty, I instantly felt the difference. It doesn’t feel like a boring calendar or an alarm nagging us to get stuff done. And that’s exactly why it works.

Gamification: Making Chores Feel Like A Game

The moment I set up the app, I could tell it was built with fun in mind. My kids got to choose a game avatar (or upload their photo), which made them feel like they were part of the experience.

Every time they complete a task, they earn coins and achievements, turning real-life responsibilities into a rewarding challenge. It’s about making progress, leveling up.

Planner & Tasks

Amazing system

One thing I love about Levelty is how it connects chores to bigger parenting goals. You can set custom goals for your child and link tasks to them, so they can see their progress along the way. The calendar feature is super easy to use, just two clicks, and boom, a new task is set. No overcomplicated settings or unnecessary steps.

Rewards System

Kids love rewards. But what’s great about Levelty is that your child can pick their own goal, whether it’s something material (like a small gift) or non-material (like extra screen time). You set the cost in the game’s currency, but it’s not tied to real money, which I think is genius. This way, kids actually learn the effort-result relationship, they see that hard work leads to rewards, just like in real life.

Parents Are Loving It!

Super organized

And I’m clearly not the only one who’s hooked. One parent even joked, “I wish I could convince my husband to be added as one of the kids in the app.” Another parent shared how they used to rely on an old-school fridge calendar with stickers for chores but never thought an app could make it this much easier and fun. They loved the pre-set task options (a huge time saver) and the coin feature, which helped their daughter stay on top of things.

Is Levelty App Free?

So, Levelty is free to download, and you get a 7-day free trial to test it out. But after that, it’s a subscription-based app, meaning you’ll need to pay to keep using it. Here are the pricing options:

  • Annual Subscription: $59.99/year
  • Monthly Subscription: $6.99/month
  • Weekly Subscription: $3.99/week

If you’re serious about using it long-term, the annual plan gives the best value. But if you just want to try it for a bit before committing to it, the monthly or weekly plans might be better.

Recommendations for Use

First off, you can try it for free for a while, and honestly, I highly recommend doing that before committing to a subscription. I know, we’ve all been burned by apps that promise the world and end up being a waste of time. But Levelty is different.

I’ve found that it works for all ages, from little ones as young as 3 years old all the way up to teenagers. The key is that everything is customizable. You set the chores, you set the rewards. So whether your kid is just learning to put their toys away or you’re trying to get a teenager to finally do their laundry, you can make the system work for your family.

Some kids just don’t respond to being told what to do. So instead of constantly reminding, and arguing, you can put the responsibility in their hands. They complete a task, they get a reward, it’s that simple.

Ranking up!

Now, if your child has ADHD, autism, or struggles with focus, this app take that into consideration. I’ve seen how having a clear system with visual rewards can help kids who get overwhelmed or distracted easily. Instead of feeling lost in a long list of things to do, they get to tackle one task at a time and actually see their progress. It makes a huge difference in motivation.

Oh, and here’s something else I found really cool, Levelty has a blog on their website that covers all sorts of parenting tips and insights. I’m personally really interested in the psychology behind parenting, so I ended up reading an article called Understanding Kids’ Emotions: Strategies to Support Them Through Fear. It’s full of practical advice on helping kids work through their emotions, and honestly, it was really helpful. If you’re into that kind of thing, definitely take a look.

One thing I’d suggest when starting out, don’t go overboard right away. When I first set it up, I wanted to add every single chore at once, and that was a mistake. It’s better to start small, maybe with just a few tasks, and let your kids get used to the system before adding more. Otherwise, they might feel overwhelmed, and we definitely don’t want that, and if your kid is a teenager they might do a better job than you setting it up actually.

TL;DR – Best Family Chore App

I loved it!

Levelty is a fun and effective way to get kids to do chores without constant reminders. It turns tasks into a game, making them more engaging for children of all ages, from toddlers to teens. The app is easy to customize, making it a great fit for different family needs, including kids who struggle with focus or motivation. I also found their parenting blog really insightful. If you’re looking for a way to encourage responsibility in a positive way, this app is worth a try.

Final Thoughts

As a parent, I know how challenging it can be to keep the household running smoothly while making sure the kids pitch in. I’ve tried different systems, but nothing worked as well as I hoped. That changed when I came across Levelty.

What stood out to me was how it made chores feel like an enjoyable challenge rather than a dreaded obligation. Instead of arguments or constant reminders, my kids actually wanted to complete their tasks. I’ve always looked for practical solutions to make life easier, and this app was it.

Levelty was developed by therapists and it shows. It’s simple, effective, and helps build responsibility in a way that doesn’t feel forced. If you’re looking for a better way to manage chores in your household, I definitely recommend giving it a shot.
