In my previous post about the superpowers that I’d like to have, I was very candid about my fascination with Gambit’s Molecular Acceleration. You know, that scientific process of speeding up molecules to generate heat and fire, melt objects or vaporize anything on earth with the capability for remote and kinetic charging and induce explosions and aid in enhanced speed, scintillating weaponry and momentous velocity?
No? Really? Okay, here’s a short clip to get a good idea of what I’m talking about.
Okay, so choosing a superpower for myself was easy (FYI I chose airbending incase you missed it), but choosing to take over an existing persona? That’s a tougher question...
The character I best identify with is, hands down, the cool and collected Remy Etienne LeBeau…

The bombastic aggression and flare charges on his playing cards may make him your archetypal mutant, but really, there’s more to Gambit than meets the eye. He grew to become one of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most beloved yet still underrated characters as of today (@Marvel folks, we’re still begging for that Origins movie about him).

Handsome in pink? The costume choice is spot on. Not all male mutants can rock that pink vest and still look as hot as Gambit. But color choices aside, he exudes a refined attitude and balances it with his ability to stand out among the X-Men. As they say, confidence is key.
It’s hard not to be won over (for guys and girls) by his dashing good looks and sickening poses when throwing those flaming decks. Even when you’re Team Wolverine or Team Cyclops, it’s hard not to be won over by his dashing good looks and cool poses when throwing those flaming decks.
Gambit doesn’t just throw objects and start a bombing frenzy, he’s calculated and methodical. He’s daring in the smartest way possible… We all know that the brain is the sexiest organ after all.
He’s traveled in different parts of the world. There goes the globe trotter in me.
Bet you didn’t know this, did you? The Louisiana native has been featured in comics and TV series as an avid cook. His time in the kitchen is a testament that men who know how to cook are sexier.
Other than keeping himself in top shape, he’s one of the very few characters that quit smoking. Way to go, Gambit!
With his bombastic confidence and dapper flare, Gambit is my man!
This is one mutant I can totally relate to.
I have always looked up to Gambit as a role model, especially because of his cool and confident attitude. He exudes an aura of fearlessness that I aspire to emulate in my own life.
His style choices are bold and daring, which is something I admire in a person who can stand out from the crowd without compromising on their values.
His ability to stay focused on his goals and remain composed under pressure also makes him an attractive role model. Plus, I love that he’s a world traveler, health buff, rockstar chef - all traits that I look up to in someone who can keep life interesting while maintaining balance.
Ultimately, Gambit is a character whom I can truly relate to and will continue to look up to as a fictional role model.
And that is why I chose Gambit over many other characters when it comes to finding a superhero persona that matches my own personality and lifestyle.
